Best Hairspray For Fine Hair Not Sticky (2025 Update) - Pubbelly (2025)

I have used Kenra hairsprays for 30+ years and the salons that I have frequented during that time have always carried this line because it works! I especially like the variety of sprays designed for all hair types AND needs. When I worked, I would use a firmer hold formula for my fine hair, but started to use their Medium Perfect hold after retirement because it has a lighter hold, but still enough hold to give body to my hair. In addition, it does not leave a sticky residue, maintains your natural shine, and does not have an annoying scent that would cause me to have any allergic reaction to any of their products. To whom it may concern: After using Umberto's regular hold hairspray for about 10 years, I was forced to find a new product when they Umberto discontinued their spray last year. After lots of looking and research I landed on Kenra's Artformation hairspray and initially was very pleased. Artformation provided good hold while not making my hair sticky or plastered-looking. Unfortunately, more often than not, I can't actually get the Artformation out of the can to actually use it. The Artformation spray can is fundamentally flawed. In the past year I have purchased 5-6 Artformation spray cans and have not been able to fully use any of them. The spray nozzle has ceased to spray on everyone of these cans, usually with more than half a can of hairspray left. I was so fed up with this that I took a can back to Ulta last week that had stopped working after about 10 uses. The salesperson at Ulta told me she uses the same Kenra spray and has the same problem. She kindly exchanged my hairspray for another can of Ulta Artformation that has stopped spraying after 2 uses. I have tried all the tricks to get the sprayer working again…running it under hot water, soaking it in hot water, rinsing the nozzle after each use, etc. While this does work sometimes, the nozzle will still eventually cease to spray at all. Not to mention, I don't want to have to soak my hairspray every time I want to use it. Kenra you have a great product. I suggest you change your nozzle so people can actually use it. I will be returning this new can to Ulta again and asking them to help me find another brand that works like your Artformation with a better nozzle. If you ever change your spray nozzle, I will definitely be back. But until then, I'm forced to find another product. Thank you for your time.I love pretty things

I have used this product for many years. It holds without being stiff or sticky. I have short platinum hair and I can sculpture my hair easily and it holds its shape all day. My hair shines and looks very natural. This last can that I purchased smells like burnt rubber. I have communicated this to Kenra but they don't s to m to care. I am now working with my salon to find another product that gives me the same results.Golpher

I love this hairspray. It is not sticky and it does not make my hair feel hard. It does have a little bit of a scent but it is not strong and it goes away quick. (I like the scent) It has a fine mist so it sprays evenly. I have blond hair so sometimes hairspray can my hair look wet but this one does not. It is a large size and lasts a long time. I received this product for free from Influenster in exchange for my review. While I’m a shampoo junkie, I am not nearly as knowledgeable about styling products. I tend to just grab whatever. This actually makes me realize I need to pay more attention to my finishing products. It has the signature smell of Biolage without a strong scent of alcohol. It’s light enough to hold down frizz without looking glued down, but also strong enough to hold my “I’m going this way” bangs in place where they should be. I’ve already used this more in the few weeks I’ve had it than the other hairspray that’s been in my cabinet for a year. This is something I will most definitely buy myself after trying it. I have medium texture, thin hair and this works great for me. I think it would also work great for fine hair since it’s so effective with my flyaways. I don’t know that it’s Beauty Pageant strong, but it’s not making that claim anyways. Helmet hair, begone! This hairspray is a great option for those looking for a natural looking hold without the crunchiness. Bonus points for the nice smell! I appreciate that ingredients were added to actually strengthen the hair in addition to styling. I do find my hair looks healthier when I’m wearing this hairspray but don’t know if the results are long term, even after washing out my hair. Stay tuned! This Medium Hold is a perfect lightweight hold. A little goes a long way. It is not sticky and works easily to style and mold the hair. It is not gummy either. Nice scent too! You will be happy with this purchase.Toeshoe

This has a very fine mist which I find helps to apply it evenly and more accurately. I love the way this formula holds my hair in shape and it looks naturally 'held' during the day. I can very easily brush my hair out after this has dried in my hair and it leaves my hair with added shape and style and it looks and feels great. This product fulfils it's promises and does not make hair stiff.\n\nA big difference I've noticed with this spray over other hairsprays is that the nozzle does not ever 'glug' up. couture is my absolute holy grail of hairsprays. i work in a salon and it’s been on backorder for almost 2 months so hopefully i don’t run out before it comes back in stock. i wear extensions but my natural hair alone doesn’t hold curl well, and this hairspray changes that. it does not make your hair feel crunchy whatsoever no matter how much you spray and it doesn’t have the gross normal hairspray smell. please get this stuff. it’s hold is incredible and i can’t feel it in my hair whatsoever.taylor.j

I have baby fine long hair. That means I have to work hard usually and do different tricks just to get volume in my hair then actually get it to stay in all day. This product is amazing for just that. This brand actually has awesome products for volume and this is def one of them. This is absolutely recommended to anyone with any kind of problems with hair lacking any kind of volume or just no volume at all. Try please. I received this product as a #FreeProduct from Topbox Circle, as a #TryWithTopbox item. I was very pleasantly surprised with the way this product worked in my hair. I have very thick, full bodied hair and Elnett Normal Hold Hairspray held my curls in place all day. Other products I have tried usually tend to make my curls fall out midday, but not Elnett. This hairspray also controls any fly away hairs that I have and holds them in place. Ontop of the staying power, this product smells wonderful. It's not a strong smell, it is a soft delicate smell which is great for the workplace setting. Elnett Hairspray also makes my hair feel soft and not hard or full of gunk like most other hair sprays do and it also has a micro diffuser, which allows for a soft fine spray application. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to keep their hair in place for the entire day or night.Mandi506

My first issue with this product is the packaging. While there is more product in this than most other hairsprays, that still doesn’t make it a great value. I only use hairspray when I’ve heat styled my hair, which is not all that frequently, and this bottle is so absurdly tall that I don’t even have a shelf that it fits on to store it away properly. If you use hairspray everyday, or are a hair stylist maybe, this size might be great for you, but I would never pick this up if I saw it in store. I’m confused by the micro-diffusion technology claim. The spray is nice, light and well distributed, but so was every other hairspray I sprayed beside this. There is nothing I noticed sets it apart. It does look and feel very nice in the hair. There is no stiffness or stickiness, however I wouldn’t say there was 24H hold. My other main issue is the scent. It’s half chemical and half your grandmothers perfume. I really like this hairspray. Not only does it work great but it made my hair shiny too. It works so well. There is kinda a strong scent when I initially sprayed it but it doesn’t last long at all. Then it’s just a light fresh kind of scent. My hair was still soft and I could easily style it even with this hairspray in it. I really like that it doesn’t coat my hair and make it sticky or leave a white residue behind. I definitely recommend trying this product. You won’t be disappointed. Loved this for about two weeks. Keep in mind that I wash my hair every single day even though it's color-treated because I work up a sweat daily exercising. After two weeks, even though I wash daily, I noticed this dry, harsh white residue. I was using this spray on my shortest top layer of a layered cut I was trying to grow out. It kept that layer from falling in my face while I did pilates and yoga. Nothing I tried removed this white coating until finally out of desperation I used blue Dawn dish soap, 2x concentrate. That almost did the trick. A bit of white junk left still. I have never in my 57 years had this problem before.Dieti

This hairspray has a very strong hold whilst remaining lightweight and non sticky. I hardly felt it in my hair but it was holding my hair in place and you wouldn’t even know. It smells lovely and not too overpowering like some other hairsprays. Easy to brush through and doesn’t tangle my hair. It lasted all day and didn’t make my hair feel dirty the next day. I have used this hairspray for years. It disappeared off the shelves sometime back in early summer. Better than any high-priced hair spray. Hair is very workable and no perfumy stink. Only wash ny hair every three or four days and all I have to do is just pick it a little in between. Not sticky and very flexible. However, it is hard to hold & use the pump while holding it above your head (minus one star) and secondly, it does little or nothing to actually preserve your hairstyle, provide hold (minus another star). I think this is my first product review for Clinique. I always read reviews but rarely take time to write them for any company. If you have allergies or skin sensitivities to smells, etc., this is a really good option to consider! I absolutely love it! In my opinion, Final Net Hairspray is a good product. I have used is for a very long time. Other hairsprays do not do the job. Final Net holds extremely well, and washes out well too. For years, I was using Sauve Unscented, but it seems it was scented and my allergies and asthma hated that and I noticed my scalp was very itchy…. I tried a few other hairsprays and got the same perfume scent and itchiness. Took a chance on this hairspray. Most scent I get is a light alcohol smell that goes away instantly and does work as good as the others. Only thing I have to do is run hot water on the spray hole so it doesn't clog up.. which it did a couple times. But all in all, I will purchase this again.

Product works well. Hair is smooth, tangle free, and has added much needed moisture to my hair. YOUR BOTTLING STINKS. Price is already expensive. You should rethink how you got this thing package. The nozzles do not work and other people have also complained not just me. If you buy this product get your own spray bottle. Or unscrew the top and just trying to not drop all of the liquid through your fingers and use it directly onto your hair. The product will also make you cough. There is a strange smell that will make you gag if you accidentally breathe as your spray the product on your hair. My advice get your own bottle to spray on the products. Hold your breath when spraying the product. Then dry hair and style your hair … enjoy

It is very hard to find unscented products that work nicely on hair — especially if you HAVE to use them. My dermatologist had me switch to all unscented products due to skin rashes, eczema, etc, and I find it has helped to use these and Vanicream products. The styling gel is very nice, and works nearly as well as the high end (scented) product I used to get from my hair salon … I wish they made an unscented hair oil to tame flyaways.

I love this product. Yarok really got it rights. My hair is fine, dry and curly (permed) The Yarok feed your curls is too heavy for my hair, but this product is perfect. It leaves my hair soft and bouncy and shiny. I spritz it through my hair when damp, scrunch and leave to air dry. Too many ways to count. I have always wanted to use hair oils but my very fine, thin hair just looked limp and lank and greasy, no matter how little I used. I took a chance on the 2 oz Feed Your Ends and I loved it so much, I purchased the larger bottle in my next order. The first time I used it, I sprayed my ends and then combed up to my crown. That method was just OK. My ends looked a little stringy, and the top of my head was frizzy. The next time I sprayed 3 pumps into my palms, rubbed them together, and then smoothed out my ends, working up the hair shaft. That did the trick! My jaw-length bob, which has looked really flat and wispy, thanks to hormonal hair loss, has gotten its bounce back. Not only that, but my hair feels soft and looks shiny. I thought straw-like ends and oily scalp was my lot in life, but whatever I'd been using (gentle as I thought it was) was clearly ruining my hair. This is my ride or dye styling product for my hair. Out of all the high end salon company heat protectors i've used and the less expensive one's and all in the organic natural sections this is the stand out product. It's light weight almost like water, it de- tangles so well. leaves the hair silky and smooth and conditioned and it's great as a leave in conditioner or simply a heat protector it's great on it's own or underneath other products. It's seriously, such a basic but it's magic. I use this after the shower to de – tangle my hair. I use it in summer on it's own to protect my hair from the sun and all the heat. I use it pre-heat styling. Or if my hair is feeling extra dry i use this, and then layer a leave in oil or thicker cream over the top for extra protection + moisture. It's again so basic, but it's a staple and i love this and whenever i don't have it i miss it and feel incomplete.

Then i am left with a full can of hairspray that i cant use and goes to waste. I just ordered 2 more new cans….started using one and the nozzle is already not functioning correctly. I emailed the actual company that makes the product and they weren't willing to help me. All they told me to do was run it under warm water. A friend recommended this to me. I had never heard of it. Since I cannot spray it directly on my hair because of problems with my hands, I spray it on my fingers and then work it through my hair. Its pretty easy to avoid over-applying by doing it that way. Then I still have to use a little hairspray because I have really fine straight hair. I wash my hair three times a week. What has really impressed me has been the way my short hair looks when I get out of bed and how it behaves on the days that I do not wash it. I am a big fan of this product. My hair absolutely does NOT hold curl under normal circumstances. I was always amazed at how long my hair would hold curl when I would go get my hair cut and styled. I asked what type of spray was being used when my hair was curled and thats when I found out about the Paul Mitchell Fast Dry Sculpting Spray. I simply put a couple sprays on my hair when I first put a section of hair on the curling iron then again when I am done curling that section of hair. L’Oreal Paris Advance Hairstyle Humidity Resistant Lock It Bold Control Hair Spray is my favorite. If you hold it a foot or so away when spraying your hair it is not sticky or stiff while holding your hair in place. It also smells great too.Mary

So extremely happy I stumbled upon this hairspray!!! After my original brand was discontinued I tried around 9 different brands all promising strong hold and/or volume but NONE of them worked..I was soooo frustrated. I tried high end hairsprays and drugstore brands nothing else worked… I am someone who likes to style my hair once and have it last and hold for the whole day regardless of the weather(wind, rain, humidity). I have medium to long fine colored hair that I like to add volume by teasing on the crown and style my bangs to whisp out of my face and stay put, this product provides EVERYTHING I was looking for! My hair looks shiny, smooth, clean and fresh so I dont care how it feels slightly crunchy to allow for the amazing hold! This is my perfect go to hairspray. It smells amazing and a few little spritz's and my hair is in place all day long. I have been using it for 3 years and it's always a restock. I highly recommend having this in your hairspray collection.amber.d
